PURPOSE:To form a delay line, which is hard enough not to bend itself and easy to bond a converter, at a high yield, by providing input and output converters on the main surface of a platelike solid-state delay medium. CONSTITUTION:Delay line 16 uses a glass plate as delay medium 20 and on its main surface 2, conductive layers are formed to provide electrodes 7 and 8; and input converter 10 and output converter 11 are tightly fixed onto electrodes 7 and 8, and ends of lead wires extending to input terminals 12 and 13 and output terminals 14 and 15 are tightly fixed to electrodes 6 and 7, and 8 and 9. Input and output converters 10 and 11 are polarized in parallel to main surface 2 as shown by arrow E and in the lengthwise direction of each converter. Electric signals applied to input terminals 12 and 13 are converted by input converter 10 from electric to mechanical and propagate on the surface of delay medium 20 at right angles to the lengthwise direction of input converter 10 to reach output converter 11, where they are converted into electric signals, which appear at output terminals 14 and 15. |
