PURPOSE:To shorten the time for inspection by gathering the light from a printed article for each pattern, resolving the hue of the light, subjecting the light thus processed to photoelectric conversion to compare the same with a reference value and thereby enabling discrimination of the quality of the hue of the printed article whereon a plurality of patterns are printed, by one device. CONSTITUTION:The patterns 2 and 3 on the printed article 1 irradiated by an irradiation system 15 are read respectively by optical systems 16 and 17 and further subjected to photoelectric conversion for each hue by photoelectric conversion systems 18 and 19. The signal thus obtained is sent from an analog switch 20 to an operation part 22 through an A/D converter 21, and in the part 22 the digital signal is modified in accordance with the transmission ratio of a filter and the like to calculate the composition of hue of the patterns, the result of which is sent to a comparing-judging part 23 and a control part 24. The comparing-judging part 23 compares the data of the calculation with the data 26 of the reference value, and whether the printed patterns are acceptable or not in indicated in a display device 27 through the control part 24 and is printed by a printer 28. |
