PURPOSE:To raise the precision of the measurement of height by storing the height error due to the curvature of the Earth beforehand in a read-on memory and by adding this to the height calculated. CONSTITUTION:By a horizontal distance calculating circuit 13, a cosine value cos is found from a sine value in a sine generating circuit 2, and the cosine value is multiplied by the output of a straight distance generating circuit 3, whereby a horizontal distance r to an object 6 is found. In ROM14, an amount of height compensation to the curvature of the Earth corresponding to the horizontal distance is stored beforehand in an address designated by the output of the horizontal distance calculating circuit 13. The output of a height calculating circuit 4 and the output of ROM14 are added by an adder 15 and thereby the height H0 of the object is obtained. |
