<p>PURPOSE:To exchange the digital information of both modes of a line exchanging mode and a packet exchanging mode by separating a route selecting function and a buffer function and realizing the routine selection with a completely non-block self-routing channel. CONSTITUTION:Digital information to operate at the mode of either of a line exchanging mode and a packet exchanging mode is also header-processed by a header circuit 100 and the routine selection is executed based on a header by a self-routing switch 101. The digital information to operate with the line exchanging mode is sent through an input line 112 to a circuit 102, here, a header removing processing and a time adjustment such as a time conversion are executed, a next output line 114 is assured, and therefore, the information is outputted to a line 114 without cancelling the information. On the other hand, the digital information to operate by the packet exchanging mode is sent through an input line 113 to a circuit 103, here, when an idle line to a line 115 is absent, the queuing or the priority control between pieces of information are executed as needed. Thus, a high speed line exchanging and a high speed packet exchanging can be simultaneously realized.</p> |
