The multi-layer identification card exhibits two cover layers (3, 4) which are joined to one another and between which an information carrier (2) is inserted onto which coded information is printed with a printing ink which is not or not completely transparent to infrared light. The code cannot be detected with the naked eye from the outside of the card. The inside of one of the cover layers can also be used as data carrier layer (2; 2, 5). The identification card can be produced very economically. |
