PURPOSE:To reduce the fluctuation of the starting pulse voltage against the fluctuation of the power source voltage by providing a voltage control means which stops the generation of the output voltage of a rectangular wave power source in the partial period of each half-cycle of the voltage and changes the voltage across the first capacitor. CONSTITUTION:A resistor 8 is connected in parallel with a capacitor 3 to control the voltage V3 across the first capacitor 3 in response to the fluctuation of the voltage V1 in the partial period of each half cycle of the output voltage V1 of a rectangular wave power source 1, and the generation of the output voltage V1 of the rectangular wave power source 1 is stopped in the partial period of each half cycle. The output period of the output voltage V1 of the rectangular wave power source 1 is controlled in response to the power source voltage, i.e., the stop period is increased when the output voltage V1 of the rectangular wave power source 1 is high, on the contrary the stop period is decreased when the output voltage V1 is low. The fluctuation of the high-voltage pulse voltage V5 generated on the secondary winding 5b of a pulse transformer 5 against the fluctuation of the voltage V1 of the rectangular wave power source 1 can be thereby suppressed. |
