PURPOSE:To reduce the contact resistance between an electrode and a terminal plate, by covering the end of the outer surface of either an anode case or a cathode case with a conductive member, and caulking the opening between these cases by bending a conductive material together with the rim of the case. CONSTITUTION:An anode case 11 for a small lithium battery or the like, which is made of a clad plate consisting of a stainless-steel layer and a copper layer, is so formed that the center part is thicker than the peripheral part. A positive terminal active material 16, a lithium metal 15, a sealing member 20, and the like are placed within the anode case 11, and a cathode case 12 is placed over all of these. After that, a conductive member 21, which has been prepared beforehand, is connected to the peripheral part of the outer surface of the anode case 11, before the opening between the cathode case 12 and the anode case 11 is caulked by bending the conductive material 21 together with the rim of the anode case 11 to hermetically seal the battery. Consequently, even if the conductive material 21 is made of nickel which may react with the positive terminal active material 16, the contact resistance between the positive electrode and the positive terminal can be minimized without causing any deterioration of the battery performance. |
