PURPOSE:To inspect easily and exactly whether a fragment exists on a rolling passage or not, by irradiating the rolling passage of a three-way roll type multistage rolling mill by a laser beam of the prescribed irradiation angle, from the outlet side, and detecting the laser beam at the inlet side. CONSTITUTION:The rolling passage formed by each rolling stand 2 of the three- way roll multistage rolling mill 1 is irradiated by a laser beam of the irradiation angle according to the sectional reduction factor of a material to be processed 4, by the laser beam projector 6 and the irradiation angle setting device 7 which are provided on the outlet side, for even time of one rolling is finished. And, it is detected by the photo detector 8 provided on the inlet side of the rolling mill 1. The inspection for confirming wheter a fragment exists on the rolling passage or not is executed easily and exactly by a light beam which expands corresponding to this rolling passage. |
