PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of efficiency of an element, which is caused by distortion occurring in the boundary of p-n junction, by forming a clear electrode on the side surface and the adjacent side surface of the end the optical fiber formed by the center core part and its peripheral clad part. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber 11 consists of a clad part 12 and a core part 13, the tip part of the optical fiber 11 is polished, and a clear electrode 14 is formed on its end surface and the adjacent side surface of the end. When the tip of optical fiber 11 is allowed to contact with the upper surface electrode 5 of the optical detector consisting of a semiconductor substrate 1, an n type area 2, a p type area 3, a reflection preventive film 4 and an electrode part 5, an electrical contact is generated between the clear electrode 14 and the electrode 5. Accordingly, when a lead wire 22 is fixed to the clear electrode at the side surface of the optical fiber in advance by use of conductive paste 21, etc., voltage can be applied through this lead wire without causing distortion in the p-n junction part. |
