Friction grip connection between towing bracket and bar - uses bolt through conical spigot and socket joint with brake lining on interface

The mounting secures a towing bracket (1) to an elastic stabilising bar (17). Relative rotation of the bracket (1) and the bar (17) is permitted about a vertical bolt (12) through a conical spigot (11) and socket (8) connection. A friction lining (9) in the conical interface provides a resistance to the rotation. The bracket may be built onto a beam (1) which spans two such mountings, and an inverted 'U' section block (15) houses onto the bar. A truncated conical spigot (11) projects from the block, housing into a conical socket (8) in an upper 'U' section block (7). The latter may house onto an extremity of the bracket beam, and the bolt (12) may pass through the vertical axis of the assembly.
