<p>The hydraulic automobile brake uses two friction pads (13B) which converge to sandwich a peripheral disc (11) flange (10). The pads fit in a 'C' shaped yoke (14), one being displaced by piston cylinder, and the yoke is mounted in the window of a fixed 'U' shaped support block (12). The yoke can pivot and displace on a wheel (11) radius, being mounted on pivot-bolt (26) located by holes (30,31) in the support block (12) legs (22). The bolt traverses an oversize radially elongated slot-hole (34) in the yoke, being precisely located by slot-holed end-caps (35) recessed into the yoke body. Caps (35) may be of steel with a low-friction lining, accepting dust covers (41) and being secured by spring washers (43) retained by rings (42).</p> |
