The drain which ensures a watertight seal between a terrace (2) and a waste pipe (4) includes an elastic sleeve (3) with a plate (1) of the same material which rests on the flags of the terrace. The sleeve is connected to the waste pipe by at least one integral annular projection (5) which compresses on insertion into the waste pipe. The drain is inserted into the pipe using a device which bears onto the ledge (6) around the base of the sleeve. This device has a pair of articulated arms with a hollow conical piece sliding over their upper ends to effect their relative movement. The arms have curved jaws at their distal end which grip and compress the sleeve.
