The cable has a flexible sheath fixed at each end to a connector element and defining a number of adjacent conduits (7) laterally joined together. Each of these conduits (7) has a rounded cross-section and contains a number of conductor wires (8). The conduits are pref. joined together by continuous longitudinal bridging sections, all of which lie in a common plane. Pref. the conduits have a cross-section which is a flattened oval and each contains between 20 and 50 conductor wires (8). Transverse rectangular stiffening ribs (10) extend across the width of all the adjacent conduits (7) at either end of the cable. The sheath may be formed as a continuous extrusion and it may have a larger number of adjacent conduits allowing it to be split longitudinally to provide the number required for each cable.
