PURPOSE:To improve single-side plating operation, by arrangeing a device for spraying molten metal to only a single side of a hoop and a device for spouting nonoxidizing atmosphere gas face to face at the outlet of an annealing furnace. CONSTITUTION:Steel hoop 1 passes through an annealing furnace 2, changes its direction half downward at a guide roll 3, passing a snout 4 and the primary sealing device 17 for the outlet of the furnace installed at the outlet of the snout 4. Single side plating is performed by spouting molten metal through a jet nozzle 19 for molten metal, having a slitlike spouting opening in the lateral direction of the hoop, installed at the underside of the steel sheet and at the top end of the snout 4. A gas-sealing device 16 with inert gas is installed on the side not to be plated of the steel hoop 1 in the plating section thereby preventing the molten metal from turning around to the backside not to be plated. Then the hoop 1 changes its direction at a deflector roll 10, and the plating quantity is adjusted with a gas-wiping nozzle 9. The nozzle 19 serves simultaneously to seal the outlet of the annealing furnace. |
