Plumbate cpds. (I) with octahedral halogen coordination of the Pb, produced by well-known crystal growth or solid state reactions, are used as material for the prodn. of light-emitting layers of, e.g., fluorescent lamps or phosphor screens. Pref. (I) is CsPbCl3, CsPbBr3, CsPbF3 or a mixed crystal of the CsPbFCl2 - CsPbCl3 - CsPbCl(3x)Br3(l-x) - CsPbBr3 - CsPbIBr2 series.
