Electrode sleeve positioning system for borehole in salt deposit - using triple rods and guide-rails for filament, enclosing clamps and multiple spacers

Three parallel carrier rods (2), mutually offset through 120 degrees, have ends rotatably held by holes (3,5) in a base plate (4) and cover plate (6), rod are firmly connected to spacers (7) to accommodate elastic sleeves (7), in provision for simultaneously positioning sleeves at predetermined axial intervals in a borehole (1). Diametrally sited guide rails (9), linking the plates guide a loop shackle (10) enclosing a filament (11) supplied with current via two tension-free supports cables passing out of the borehole through a control hole in the cover plate. Each sleeve stands on three spacers (8) and is enclosed by a tensioning element (15), retaining its dia., passing through diametral holes (16). This enables a number of sleeves to be inserted as outside electrodes for cylindrical capacitors and correctly positioned for a probe in the borehole.
