<p>A casting mould is produced by surrounding a gasifiable pattern, pref. of foamed plastics, and hardening the moulding material, to which water has been added, by cooling it and the pattern to below 0 deg.C. The water may be added to the moulding material before and/or after placing around the pattern and excess water is pref. removed by suction or centrifuging. Since the pattern is left in position, addn. of binders to improve mould strength can be dispensed with. The castings have a good surface quality, the moulding material is directly re-usable and the process productivity is improved.</p> |
