The collector of a mobile lawn sweeper has a chassis with a power-driven blower in a casing with an inlet aperture for sucked material, and a closing lid (7). The latter incorporates a shallow hollow space (9), and an air intake aperture (12) on its underside (15) facing the collector (3). The hollow space is fitted with sound insulating material (20,21), over which the sucked air flows. The lid also has an air outlet aperture (27) guiding it to the ambient atmosphere. The air intake can incorporate a dust filter. The air inlet aperture is preferably located in the region of the suction fan outlet in the casing.
