Speed control for rotary pump driven by diesel engine - monitors speed changes to keep power constant in given speed range

The speed control holds the power taken by the pump constant over a given range of speeds. The control signal is derived from fluctuations in the speed of the engine speed caused by changes in loading. Control is electric/hydraulic accomplished by controlling electrically the quantity and/or pressure of oil in the hydraulic part. The control/hydraulic part transfers 0-25 percent of the total power. Alternatively, the control may be electronic. A planet gear with a controlled hydraulic power branch (pref. electronically controlled) may be used to drive the pump in the given speed range.
