The flexible tube (1) for a vacuum cleaner or dust extraction equipment, also carries an electrical cable (3) with coiled conductors. The tube incorporates a channel (2) inside which the cable is supported, the whole being enclosed by an outer tube (4). In another form, the inner tube has a flat along it, being approximately D-shaped. Inside the space between this surface and the outer tube is a shallower D-section of plastics foam, with the cable embedded in it. Instead of a cable, a small tube may be housed in the space.
