Resist printing of polyester-cellulose blends - using mineral oil-free printing paste contg. a poly:oxyalkylate

The parent patent describes a process for the resist dyeing and printing of polyester-cellulose blends involving (a) padding with liquors based on disperse and reactive dyes, which react with the resist agent, opt. other disperse and reactive dyes which are resistant to the resist agent and opt. an alkali formate, (b) drying, (c) printing with a resist paste opt. also carting a dye resist to the resist agent, (d) heating at 100-190 deg.C and opt. (e) subjecting to alkaline fixing. In this addn. the process uses a printing paste contg. 30-250, pref. 50-150 g (per kg) of an auxiliary of formula CnH(2n+2-m)(O(CH2CHMe)O)x/m-H)m (I) where n is an integer 2-6; m is an integer 1-6 (esp. 1) and x is 20-60, with the proviso that m is less than or equal to n). The use of a mineral oil to replace part of the thickener in the printing paste can be dispensed with when (I) is used. Prints with good fastness and rub-resistance are obtd.
