Exhaust outlet on top of lorry cab - has aerodynamic shape with outlet grille on upper surface

The outlet for the top of a lorry cab has an aerodynamic shape (24) with an outlet grille (11) on its top surface and linked to the engine by a down pipe. The exhaust gasses are dispersed above the vehicle without increasing drag and without danger of reaching following cars. The outlet forms a wing profile, or a tear drop fitting, with the angle adjusted to suit the airflow when different sizes of load are carried behind the cab. The top surface of the outlet is convex to provide a negative pressure, as in a wing, to aid the fume dispersal. The fumes are swirled and spread above the lorry.
