<p>Link belt consists of several parallel spirals of plastic wire, left-hand spirals alternating with right-hand spirals, with adjacent spirals pushed sideways into each other to create a cavity through which a plastic link filament is introduced. The filament is threaded through the cavities by a short magnetisable shuttle which is moved forward by a permanent magnet on the outside. This simplifies the threading of the link filament and facilitates the prodn. of link belts of several metres width.</p> |
