Milling cutter with hard metal tips - has tips with or without fixing holes clamped in peripheral grooves in cutter head

The cutter consists of a ring head with a flange (2) used as a limit stop for holder plates (10). On the periphery of the head is a circular row of grooves (5) separated by ribs which form a thrust surface for plates (10). Each groove contains two threaded holes (6), the rear hole (6) being used to locate a wedge (7) holding a plate (10) in the groove (5). Each plate (10) has a recess (12) contg. a threaded hole for locating a hard metal tip (15). The front hole (6) in each groove can be used to locate a second wedge (7) holding a hard metal tip (14) in a recess (12) without using a screw. The cutter head can be used to carry hard metal tips with or without fixing holes.
