The drive has a worm gear (28) sealed within the casing (18) such that the first space (60) containing the worm (26) is sealed from the second space (62) containing the drive element (20). The two spaces are inside the casing. The components, cord drum and coupling in the second space are made of water-resistant materials e.g. plastic. The worm gear is sealed preferably in the region of one end face (31) near the periphery from an inner face (71) of the casing perpendicular to the axis of the worm gear. The seal is a lip-type seal of specified design.
