<p>Two thermoplastic films are bonded together while hot immediately after being extruded from a multiple nozzle; a corona discharge is produced between the films adjacent to the nozzle, they are then bonded together by passing between rollers. The simple process bonds (dis)similar films together. Pref. the electrode (13) is located between and close to the films and is energised at e.g. 7-40 kHz. (13) consists of two perforated supports (14) holding a lower sphere (13), the holes permit air to pass through and be drawn off centrally together with the ozone produced.
