The sail board (1) has at least one hydrofoil (2,3) arranged below its underside. There may be two such hydrofoils arranged at a distance behind one another in which case the angle of incidence of the front foil is pref. greater than that at the rear. The hydrofoil may have a transverse V-profile with the apex upwards or downwards. The wing tips of each hydrofoil may extend in rearward direction. The hydrofoil(s) may be releasably and/or adjustably secured under the boat or sail board.
