摘要 PURPOSE:To ensure a uniform and highly efficient polishing on the surface of an electrophotographic photoreceptor, by forming a series of developer sticking regions at a part of the nonpicture region of the photoreceptor and in the direction crossing the movement of the nonpicture region. CONSTITUTION:The coloring component 12 of bladk, fray and the like having a low reflection factor of light is put on either side of the nonpicture region, e.g., at the scan starting end and in the width direction of the original board 9, i.e., in the direction crossing the movement of the board 9. As a result, the light reflected from the component 12 corresponds to the dark area of the original, and thus the electric charge on the circumference surface of the photosensitive drum corresponding to the component 12 and in the direction of the bus does not disappear in a fixed length and in the direction of the circumference. As a result, a developer adding region is formed and then the developer sticking component 13 including the belt-type abrasives is formed in the subsequent development process by the developing unit. This part 13 is never transferred to the transfer component P in the next transfer process, and accordingly the circumference surface of the photosensitive drum is polished with the abrasives contained in the developer to exclude the foreign substance when the part 13 is rubbed by the cleaning blade 8.
