Drinking straw contained within bottle - has buoyancy element to lift it for use when bottle is opened

The arrangement facilitates consumption of a liquid contained in a bottle. It comprises a thin rigid tube (1) which is wholly contained within the bottle and has a buoyancy element (4) causing the tube to rise slowly when the bottle is opened so that its upper end (2) projects from the bottle and the tube can be used as a drinking straw. The inflow during filling of the bottle drives the element sufficiently down to permit closure. The tube may consist of two telescoping parts (2,3) to vary its total length. The element (4) may be a hollow (5) (plastic) member with opening (7) for the tube or may be integral therewith.
