1506427 Liquid detergent UNILEVER Ltd 29 April 1976 [28 April 1975] 17789/75 Heading C5D An aqueous liquid detergent comprises (a) 3-12% of potassium alkylbenzene sulphonate with 10-18 carbon atoms in the alkyl chain, (b) 2-8% of potassium C 8-22 soap or polymer thereof, (c) 0À5-5% of nonionic detergent active alkylene oxide adduct, (d) 0À1-2% of a potassium salt of a copolymer of maleic anhydride with vinylmethyl ether, ethylene or styrene partially esterified with the nonionic detergent active (c) said copolymer having, before esterification, a specific viscosity of 0À1-4À5 (1 g. in 100 ml. of methyl ethyl ketone at 25‹C.) and (e) 1-25% of sodium tripolyphosphate or a mixture of a major amount of sodium tripolyphosphate and a minor amount of potassium tripolyphosphate wherein the weight ratio a:b is 1:2 to 6:1, the weight ratio a:c is 35:1 to 25:1, the total a + b + c constituting 7À5 to 20% and the weight ratio c:d being from 25:1 to 1:50. Ingredients specified include (a) potassium dodecylbenzene sulphonate, (b) potassium soaps of coconut fatty acid, oleic acid and polymerized oleic acid (dimer/trimer mixture), (c) fatty alcoholethylene oxide adduct, others: sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, sodium silicate, brightener and dye. The potassium salts may be made in situ by addition of KOH. |
