PURPOSE:To suppress effectively the partial wear occurrence in the heavy duty radial tire having at least two longitudinal ribs on a tread by providing chamfer areas at specified places in longitudinal grooves which define the longitudinal ribs. CONSTITUTION:In the radial tire in which at least one longitudinal groove 1 having an opening widening outwardly defines at least two longitudinal ribs 2 on the tread, chamfer areas C are provided at the corners of the ribs running is zigzag on the tread side. The chamfer area is formed sloping at an angle of 20 deg.-45 deg. with respect to the normal of the tread standing on the forder between the chamfer area to a depth of 3mm. along the normal. On the other hand, on the rib 2 is formed a slightly recessed surface R corresponding to each chamfer area C. |
