PURPOSE:To prepare the titled dispersion having low toxicity and flammability, and excellent dispersing properties to pigment, etc. and dispersion stability, by polymerizing a (poly-functional) acrylic acid ester, etc. in a solvent composed mainly of an aliphatic hydrocarbon, etc. CONSTITUTION:A monomer of formula [R is H or methyl; A is -COOCnH2n+1, or -OCOCnH2n+1 (n is 6-20)] [e.g. lauryl (meth)acrylate] is copolymerized with a polyfunctional (meth)acrylic acid ester [e.g. diethyleneglycol (meth)acrylate] in a solvent composed mainly of a petroleum-based aliphatic hydrocarbon or its halide, in the presence of a polymerization initiator such as benzoyl peroxide.
