PURPOSE:To reduce the cooling efficiency of a freezing cycle by determining that the outside temperature is lower by more than a predetermined value than the target temperature of an air conditioning in the passenger compartment and decreasing the cooling ability when such a determination is made. CONSTITUTION:The air conditioner comprises an inner and outer air damper 2, an air blower 3, an evaporater 4, a heater core 5, a temperature adjusting damper 7 and an air blowing outlet 8 arranged in this order within a ventilation duct 1 from the upstream to the downstream. The respective elements 2-5, 7 and 8 are all controlled by a controller 10. The controller 10 recives the outputs from an inner temperature sensor 21, outer temperature sensor 22 and temperature setting device 23 and makes a prescribed processing to output a control signal. When the controller 10 determines that the outer temperature is lower than the target temperature to which the inner temperature is controlled to bring by more than the predetermined value, an electromagnetic clutch 31 connecting/disconnecting the power supply from an engine EG to the freezing cycle CC is turned off to reducing the cooling ability irrespective of the cooled condition in the passenger compartment. |
