PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized axle drive generator requiring only a small mounting space and to improve its reliability and maintainability by a method wherein the generator is placed on the casing supporting a speed-increasing gear mechanism and it is driven through the medium of a two-step speed-increasing device. CONSTITUTION:An axle 2 supporting a wheel 1 is installed on a truck frame 10 through a bearing mounting section and a car-body 12 is placed on the truck frame 10 through the intermediate of a car-body supporting spring. The input axle of a speed-increasing device 13, supported by the bearing mounting section of the truck frame 10, is coupled to the end of the axle through a cushion joint 14. The speed- increasing device 13 is supporting the generator 15 in such a manner that the axle of the generator is located at the quadrature direction of the axle 2, and its output end is coupled to the axle of the generator. Also the input axle 131, to be coupled to the joint 14 of the speed-increasing device 13, has a flexible axle, having a spline processing on both ends, whereon a big bevel gear 132 is spline-coupled. In this way, the generator is miniaturized, and its reliability and maintenability can be improved. |
