<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a digital magnetic recorder which is capable of a continuous recording of the digital signals in an easy and accurate way, by travelling the magnetic tape having plural tracks in both directions and alternately and then selecting plural magnetic head elements for record and reproduction. CONSTITUTION:The end part of the record/reproduction region is detected by the detecting devices 30-32 for the magnetic tape 7 having plural tracks T1-T4, and the tape 7 is travelled in both ways F and R and alternately. Then the magnetic head elements are selected by the magnetic head element selecting circuits 21 and 23 at the record and reproduction sides each to perform the record/reproduction of the digital signals with use of the combination magnetichead 16 in which plural magnetic head elements W1-W4 and R1-R4 for record and reproduction purposes each are provided in a body to correspond to each track. Furthermore, the input data for the inverse period of the travelling direction of the tape 7 is stored temporarily in the memory 25.</p> |
