<p>Centrifugal dryer, partic. for the sugar refining industry, is a continuous action, vertical axis centrifuge having a coned, perforated screen which is spray washed by a water sparge pipe parallel to the screen. The position of the pipe can be adjusted in an axial direction and it can be angularly adjusted about its axis. A straight pipe is now used which has both ends closed and a central inlet connected to a flexible supply pipe. The pipe has spray holes located asymmetrically w.r.t. the central inlet. End to end reversal of the pipe doubles the spray patterns available from a single pipe.</p> |
