PURPOSE: To prevent the degradation of an antifoam effect by incorporating 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3-diisobutyloxypentane into a specific linear organopolysiloxane, a silicone resin and a filler at <=10% by the weight thereof. CONSTITUTION: An antifoam base is produced by mixingα-ω-bis- hydroxypolydimethylsiloxane, 2-octyldodecanol and CH3 OH soln., then neutralizing the mixture with dimethyldichlorisilane to obtain an oily material and mixing this material with an MQ resin in tolyol. The antifoamer is produced by mixing the antifoam base contg. the organopolysiloxane in which >=6 pieces of C atoms comprising a C atom, H atom and in some cases O atom and Si atom to an org. group SiC bonded to part of the linear organopolysiloxane exist, the silicone resin and the filler and the 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3- diisobutyloxypentane of <=10% of the weight thereof.
