<p>Composite geotextile laminates for use in earthworks comprise a filter layer, a drainage layer and a reinforcing layer. The laminate of the invention is used with a water-tight film, not for drainage but for irrigation of tropical or desert soils, without excessive surface evaporation, or water loss by filtration. The central drainage layer ensures a regular distribution of water over all its surface, and the upper filter layer supplies the arable soil with moisture by a 'wick' effect, without clogging, and without loss of soil nourishment. A low pressure pump may be introduced in a closed circuit having perforated pipes to assist the regular supply of water to the geotextile.</p> |
