PURPOSE:To realize a miniaturized structure of the antenna to incorporate said antenna into the fender mirror, by incorporating the transmission part of the photoelectric signal into one of the two fender mirros and then a reception part for the photoelectric signal into the other fender mirror respectively. CONSTITUTION:An obstacle detecting device consists of the light transmitter 2 which transmits the light beam L1 to the front of a car in the beam angle phi1, the light receiver 3 which receives the reflected light L2 within the widening angle phi2, and the information process circuit 6 which controls both the transmitter and receiver 2 and 3. The transmitter 2 is incorporated into the right fender mirror 4; while the receiver 3 is incorporated into the left fender mirror 5 respectively. Thus the light is used instead of the electric wave to detect the object. As a result, the antenna is miniaturized, thus faclitating an easy incorporation of the antenna into the fender mirror. |
