The component directs a heat-transfer medium in a fuel-fired heat generator, and comprises two hollow profiled sections of different diameters fitted one inside the other. These sections bear against each other at the side against which the heating gases flow, and the innermost one accommodates the medium. Each section can be a pipe, and they can be welded together where they bear against each other. The inner one can have a lengthwise flat, its outside diameter being equal to the inside diameter of the outer one. The intervening free space can be filled with material of low heat conductivity.
