8 48,486 It has been found in accordance with this invention that a more convenient arrangement for grounding a plurality of drawout motor controllers in the control center for distributing electric power from a power supply to power consuming units, comprising a cabinet having a plurality of vertically disposed compartments on at least one side of the cabinet, a plurality of vertical, horizontally spaced bus bars in the cabinet, a circuit breaker in at least one compartment and movable into and out of a position adjacent to the bus bars, each bus bar comprising at least a portion in a plane aligned with the direction of movement of the circuit breaker, the circuit breaker having bus bar connectors movable into and out of electrical connection with corresponding bus bars, a ground bus bar adjacent to the path of travel of the circuit breaker, ground connector means on the circuit breaker for engaging the ground bus bar the bus bar extending vertically along the plurality of vertically disposed compartments, the circuit breaker having an enclosure including a side wall comprised of. electrically conductive material, and ground connector means comprising spring metal clips mounted on the side wall for engagement with the ground bus bar prior to and during engagement of the bus bar connectors with the bus bars when the circuit breaker moves toward the bus bars. |
