PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain good welding results even in the water, by fixing the end of consumable nozzle in the groove of tab plate with a solidified flux and by making welding while the consumable nozzle is inserted into the groove. CONSTITUTION:In a welding method using electro-slag welding consumable nozzle 1, tab plate 5a is used and consumable nozzle 1 and steel wool 4 to be used for starting arc are distributed in its groove, and, at the same time, a mixture of flux 8 to be used for forming slag is fixed to consumable nozzle 1 and tab plate 5a. Consumable nozzle 1 mentioned above is inserted into the groove of material to be welded and welding is done. Consumable nozzle 1 is located at the center of the groove, prevents deviation of melting and occurrence of arc from consumable nozzle 1 in the course of welding, and makes possible to produce stable arc even in the water. |
