The tap comprises a groove-forming stage (1) with a shank (2) carrying a thread-forming stage (3) the pitch of projections of which is equal to the pitch of projections of the groove-forming stage (1), whereas the projections of the thread-forming stage (3) are shifted along the axis of the tap in relation to the projections of the groove-forming stage (1). The thread-forming stage (3) is mounted behind the groove-forming stage (1) on the threaded shank (2) movably along the axis of the latter, that movement being limited by a stop (4) fixed on the shank.
