Positive in Rydon Smith reagent, etc. USE:A remedy for an infectious disease by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and an inhibiting substance of a metal protease as a growth regulator for microorganisms. PROCESS:An actinomycete belonging to the genus Streptomyces, e.g., Streptomyces morzuensis AJ 9406 (FREM-P 4589, NRRL 12054), etc. is subjected to aerated cultivation preferably at pH 5-9 at 15-40 deg.C.
