<p>The liquid crystal display is of sandwich type and has several display planes. In the non-excited state the front display plane is transparent, permitting full view of the rear display plane. Pref. the interchange of minute and hour displays is enabled by several small display planes, thus permitting almost complete simulation of an analog watch or clock display. The liquid crystal technology, used in forming the display, may use the following effects, dynamic dispersion and depositions dichroic colour molecule in liquid crystals with positive or negative anisotropy, possibly with admixture of cholesteric substances. Storage effects, phase transitions, and colour display steps may be also used. Various types of display may be used, and the display may be energised by a microprocessor or special integrated circuit.</p> |
