Universal jib for holding swivelling and rotating tool - esp. for holding resistance welding gun on motor vehicle assembly line

The jib is located on a central pivot and can be moved along its longitudinal axis. The jib is also connected via one pair of levers (15,16) to a second pair of levers (12,13), each of the latter possessing its own driven unit. The pivot axes of levers (12,13) pref. coincide with, or are near, the central pivot on which the jib is located. The central pivot is pref. located on a carrier, which can be rotated, or swivelled on a horizontal pivot axis, or driven longitudinally. Three-dimensional adjustment of the jib is provided, thus allowing universal motion of the welding gun or other tool.
