PURPOSE:To reduce evaporating loss in the liquid hydrogen tank with decrease in the incursive heat by installing a para-ortho hydrogen converter on the evaporating hydrogen passage. CONSTITUTION:A para-ortho converter 8 is installed on the way of evaporating gas piping 2 to convert the evaporated para-hydrogen into ortho-hydrogen. Since ortho- hydrogen has higher energy than para-hydrogen, para-ortho conversion is an endothermic reaction, hydrogen gas itself is cooled by its conversion heat, a radiant shield plate 5 is cooled, and thermal incursion to a liquid hydrogen vessel 4 can be suppressed. Thus, since the radiant shield plate 5 is cooled, incursive radiant heat is reduced, evaporating loss of liquid hydrogen can be minimized. |
