The disclosure deals with a clamping device for molds used in blow molding of hollow plastic articles having two halves (1A,1 B) of the mold for forming the sides of the hollow plastic article and a bottom part, wherein the halves of the mold can be moved away from each other. The clamping device is characterized in that during the opening of the mold the halves of the mold are moved away from each other in a longitudinal direction to said hollow plastic article and, at least partially simultaneously, in a perpendicular direction to said article.
