ARRANGEMENTS FOR ADJUSTING THE POSITION OF A RIBBON OF A PRINTING MACHINE

Disclosed is an arrangement for adjusting the position of a ribbon guide element in business machines, data printers or teleprinters. The ribbon in the area of the operating position is adjusted by means of a stepping motor into either an inspecting position or a position for use of either black or red type; the inspecting position being determined by means of a scanning system. This eliminates the mechanical gear elements used in the prior art which are subject to mechanical malfunction and wear.
