PURPOSE:To effectively dissipate a surplus heat generated from a thermal head through a radiator roller and contrive stabler printing and printing quality, by providing the radiator roller on the opposite side of a platen roller with respect to the thermal head. CONSTITUTION:An ink of an ink sheet 6 is thermally transferred onto a recording paper 5 by a thermal head 3, and a surplus heat generated in this case is transmitted to a platen roller 1. Since the platen roller 1 is rotated and a heat-transmitting part of the platen roller 1 makes contact with a radiator roller 11 formed of a material having high thermal conductivity, however, the heat transmitted to a surface layer of the platen roller 1 is transferred through absorption to the radiator roller 11 before being transmitted to a deep part of the platen roller 1, so that the platen roller 1 is cooled, and the heat is not accumulated in the platen roller 1. As a result, the platen roller 1 is constantly maintained at a normal temperature. On the other hand, the heat transferred to the radiator roller 11 is dissipated from a surface separated from the platen roller 1 as the roller 11 is rotated, and the roller 11 is cooled. |
